Drawing inspiration from the famous “Rumah Panggung” or Stilt House, a longstanding tradition in Indonesia, PANGKU determines Indonesian simplicity and expertise in wood craftsmanship.

Our ancestors built stilt houses by hearing the sounds of nature; avoid floods by the river, keep wild animals from the jungle, and even strengthen the house if it was near a mountain. Just as Stilt Houses achieve a “floating” effect with their main structures supported by pillars, PANGKU similarly emphasizes detailed pieces that enhance its durability while maintaining a lightweight feel. By designing PANGKU, we honor the incredible ingenuity of our Indonesian ancestors.

The constant pursuit of product creation can sometimes feel overwhelming, especially when deciding where a line should begin and a design should end.

This reflection led us to create the Fabric in Form Lamp. Here, the audience discovers a piece defined by a single, purposeful line—minimalist yet radiant. This ‘single-line’ philosophy mirrors the concept of our Lace Divider, where we found that beauty often intensifies as a design becomes simpler.

Design does not always require ‘more.’ Sometimes, all that is needed is the journey from one line to the next. The Fabric in Form collection goes beyond merely creating an outer shell; it embodies the very essence of simplicity in product design.

Part of the same collection as the stool and lamp, Lace Divider distinguishes itself through its unique materiality.

The concept was born from the challenge of textile waste—specifically the leftover lace and brokat from bespoke wedding gowns. Since every bride seeks a unique design for their dream day, the creation of couture naturally generates significant remnants.

Turning waste into gems, Studio Hendro Hadinata and Threadapeutic collaborated to transform these “meaningful traces” into a functional masterpiece. Lace Divider preserves the essence of those celebrated moments, weaving the beauty of a “dream day” into a new, tangible reality.

Studio Hendro Hadinata and Threadapeutic are proud to announce that Lace Divider has been named the winner of the Design Anthology Awards 2025 in the Textile category. This recognition celebrates our commitment to transforming reclaimed materials into culturally significant design.

Stools wrapped in partially-finished textile cushion covers become an interactive canvas for you to complete.

Each stool features a unique shade of blue, inspired by birds and insects native to Indonesia, crafted from surplus fabric found in Threadapeutic’s storeroom. At their core lies the process of “brushing,” a technique that reveals the hidden layers of fabric beneath.

First showcased at Bintaro Design District 2024, these stools encourage a tactile connection with the act of making—transforming something functional into a tactile experience for the user.

Hiro Chair is inspired by the Japanese philosophy of craftsmanship, focusing on the beauty of detail and simplicity.

Embracing this ethos, we explored the natural elegance of materials and techniques, transitioning from solid wood to plywood bending for the backrest. This process allowed us to create graceful curves while minimizing material use. Subtle enhancements to the chair’s foot and profile add to its aesthetic appeal, giving it a solid and striking presence.

Represent a unique fusion of innovative material usage; it is resulting in its bold character.

Ton Chair is departing from the conventional wood bending technique to incorporate hollow metal bending, a method that is essential for reducing material wastage and enhancing durability. By looking at its weaknesses in traditional construction, such as fragile joints; metal bending emerges as a solution. Additionally, the inclusion of a construction ring at the chair’s base strengthens its structure, ensuring longevity.
