Tiana Bench was born from a deep appreciation for the traditional craftsmanship of Sumba, specifically the techniques used to create Mamuli—a sacred piece of jewelry gifted by a groom to his bride.
This ancient technique is remarkably intricate and unique; each artisan is trained to master the minute details that define these ornaments.
We have transformed these delicate jewelry-making skills into a large-scale functional piece. By applying the mathematical precision of their craft, we created a structural pattern strong enough to support the bench’s form. In essence, the Tiana Bench serves as ‘jewelry for the home.
